New in Beauty | Upcoming Launches

Let us talk about beauty products that are hitting the market soon and are talked about all over social media.

In no particular order, here is what the craze has been all about:

1. URBAN DECAY NAKED HEAT Eyeshadow Palette:

NAKED HEAT in color
This eyeshadow palette is what everyone and their mother is talking about! If you are a fan of Urban Decay then you are very familiar with their NAKED 1, 2, and 3 eyeshadow palettes and know how widely popular their eyeshadow palettes are in general. Urban Decay has finally announced a new palette to their never ending collection of the NAKED series. This UD palette is unlike any other of their NAKED palette's since this offers a completely different color tone. The NAKED HEAT palette is a warm toned palette that offers warmer shades such as coppers and rose gold tones. The eyeshadow palette officially launches on June 30th. This palette is perfect for summer since the colors range from an off-white egg shell color to a deep reddish taupe hue. It is no wonder why the palette is named "HEAT" as it is capable of creating the perfect sun-kissed eyeshadow makeup look. The palette will retail for $54 (before taxes) and will be available in ULTA, Sephora and the Urban Decay Website.

305 | Porter Miami | MIA | Ocean Drive | Magic City | South Peach

Behold the summer 2017 collection of Kathleen Light's KL Polish. Kathleen Lights is an ultimate beauty guru on YouTube. This recently launched nail polish brand debuted in the Fall of 2016 and has since had seasonal launches. The time has finally come for the first summer collection and it features 6 new shades: 305, Porter Miami, MIA, Ocean Drive, Magic City, and South Peach. These six new shades will launch on Tuesday, June 20th only at KLpolish.com and will each retail for only $8.50. If you want nail swatches, make sure to check out their InstagramTwitter and Facebook. Personally, I am very excited to get my hands on all of the colors but if I had to choose only three then I would definitely go for South Peach, Magic City, and Ocean Drive. I cannot wait to see what Kathleen Lights has up her sleeve for her Fall 2017 collection!

Last but not least we have the best of both worlds! Jaclyn Hill, a YouTube beauty guru, and Morphe Brushes have collaborated to bring you the ultimate dream palette featuring 35 new eyeshadow shades. These new eyeshadows not only feature never before seen colors, but are also made from a brand new and improved formula, are individually pressed to fit their finish and are overall of higher quality. Jaclyn Hill mentioned that she has been working on this palette for about 2 years and it is now finally ready to launch for the world to indulge in these creamy and buttery shades. The palette will retail for $38 and will only be available on the Morphe Brushes Website on June 21st. I just know that this palette will be sold out within minutes of launching but I have high hopes that they will bring it back due to high demand. I am not sure whether this will be in their permanent collection or not. This palette is perfect for anyone since it features everything cool hues to warm hues, shimmery shades to matte shades as well as a couple duo chrome shades.

That is all for now! I cannot wait to see how well all of these launches do.

My Favorite Petite Store

It's a fashion post kind of day! A couple weeks ago I finally found my favorite store to shop at for both casual and business clothes. This magical store is LOFT by Ann Taylor, their petite section clothing fits me like a glove and is super inexpensive. Particularly, I am so happy that I have finally found the perfect pair of pants that fit me well for my body type. The Marisa Fit style fits me so well since my hips are proportionate to my waist and for under $75 is a steal since no additional costs like having your pants hemmed are required.

The main reason why I love LOFT is because of their amazing prices. Every week LOFT will announce some sort of sale that is too good to pass up on. Some of their sales can range from 40-50% off select styles or their already marked down sale section. Personally I have picked up a couple of great pieces from them and have always found their clothing to be of great quality. Apart from their pants, I am also a big fan of both their dressy and casual tops.

In my opinion, I think LOFT does a great job in providing most of their regular sized tops in petite sizes. For their regular sized shirts I just feel as though their tops are way too long for my liking and most look odd since they come all the way down past my hips, making it look a bit unflattering. I find that a lot of their tops run big so I usually tend to be a size XS petite or sometimes an XXS petite depending on the style of the shirt. I have gotten a couple of tops from them and find myself wearing them both to work and casual days on the weekend.

LOFT also has some pretty great jewelry pieces and I must admit that the only time I ever buy jewelry from them is when they are having a sale so I usually spend around $10 - $14 for a great statement or dainty piece of jewelry. Their jewelry pieces are of great quality and last for a long time when properly taken care of.

Currently LOFT is having 50% off full-priced dresses, cropped pants, tees & tanks as well as 40% off their SALE section online. In stores only, LOFT is having 50% off their sale section so most of the time I am shopping in person and find great pieces for a steal.

Which stores are your favorite to shop at?

Thanks for reading! Till next time. XoXoXo-Jess

The Martinique Cafe

Oh the places you'll go in NYC! Everywhere you go, you'll find yourself going someplace new to either grab a quick bite or take on a full meal. I love exploring different parts of the city and trying out new restaurants. I do occasionally stumble across places that I simply do not like and would never go again or I find new favorite spots that I would recommend and feature on here.

This week I am writing you from Midtown, a rather busy place during the weekends because of all the shopping stores around, especially Macy's Herald Square. Daniel and I had quiet a struggle trying to find a good brunch place at around 1:00 p.m. We were headed to Macy's Herald Square so decided to explore the Midtown neighborhood for places to eat and we stumbled across The Martinique Cafe located on 6th ave between 32nd and 33rd street.
Initially I had felt too under dressed as the place looked so well kept and looked like it would be place where people come dressed up for brunch. I received some comfort in seeing a couple of other people wearing casual clothing as well.

Since it was around 1:30 p.m. and this was my first meal of the day, I was rather hungrier than usual. I went for their "Broadway Omelette" which consisted of cheddar cheese, green peppers, onions, tomatoes, ham, home-style Potatoes and a couple pieces of strawberries and blueberries. Personally I really enjoyed my order and was happy that my plate was not so overly full since I usually force myself to eat every last bite on my place (which is not a good thing when you're already so stuffed). The only change I would make next time is opt out for the cheddar since I felt that it took away from the omelette and was a bit too much (which is a shocker since I am totally a cheese lover).

Daniel on the other hand ordered the "2 Eggs Any Style" that came with fries bacon or sausage, and a rather small side of fruit. Daniel was not a fan of their sausage and I wasn't either when I tried some of his so I was glad I had gone with my Omelette since I was debating on whether to get scrambled eggs. Because we had plans to go shopping afterwards I did not try any of their drinks.

I feel like this place can definitely be a place where you can have a 3-course meal with your friends and have a rather nice and relaxing conversation since they did have soft music playing at a low volume. The food did not take long to make and the staff were friendly when we arrived. It did take a bit longer for them to take our order even though the place was rather empty since it was 1:30 p.m. The prices here were very decent ranging from $12 - $19 for brunch.
My overall rating: 8/10
